There's a saying something about those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Or something like that. Well...i've decided that sometimes that is crap. Because quite frankly, i just don't think people should look back. It's not always a pretty sight. I'm not a person who enjoys looking back. While there are good things behind me...there are some ugly things behind me too. These ugly things may have names...and may be people. So here's to not looking back...and instead always looking forward. To hell with repeating history, i'd rather repeat it, than relive it.

I think the actual quote is "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." I think what they're trying to say is that you don't need to focus on the events that transpired, you just need to figure out what went wrong and remember the lesson.
Let's use me for an example. I could say, "Self, remember that time I woke up and I'd puked on the floor and had a wicked hangover? Or how about that time I woke up in the living room and my girlfriend was pissed off and I have no idea what I did?" and continue going over every drunken night... but that takes a lot of time and dredges up some memories I probably don't want to resurrect. What I should do is go "Self, I've gotten blasted and done dumb crap way too often... I should probably cut back." And then follow that advice.
It's more of a more general "bad shit happened, and this is how to avoid it", rather than getting myself all upset over the events that occurred.
