Fiona Apple is coming to Indy on July 12th! SOOOOOOOOOOO excited! However...i can't find tickets on ticketmaster yet! Grrr!!! I want to make sure i'm getting tickets! Why won't they go on sale??!! All i want to do is give them my money! Is that such a crime?? Rahr!!!!

I've decided that my dating escapades are far too amusing to not share with the whole world...so here's a recap of tonight...

Date bio: 22 yr old male from Fort Wayne, no college degree, but going to school for occupational therapy. Currently works as a radiologist technician's assistant. Wrestles in his free time (WWF style, not high school style). Kinda short...very handsome.

Details:

He came to pick me up at 7:30. I made sure i looked damn good. I had a cold sore earlier today...but miraculously it made a disappearance by this afternoon. I thought that was a good sign. My apartment was a mess, and i could tell he didn't like that...but whatever. He seemed quiet and distant the instant he picked me up, and didn't even comment on how i looked. I generally expect a "you look nice" on a first date. He did open the door for me to the car, and shut it after i got in. Definite bonus points. Conversation in the car was forced, he didn't seem very interested in seeing me tonight. Dinner was incredibly awkward. I asked about his ex girlfriend (generic questions, he brought her up in a previous conversation, so i figured it was safe territory), and it was made very obvious he was still hooked up on his ex. Not necessarily a bad thing, but could be a potential problem. Dinner was very short, and he didn't really talk...just ate. An hour after he picked me up (yes...dinner was that short) we went back to our apartment complex (FYI, he lives in the building next to mine), he starts walking into his apartment. I ask if i'm following him, and he says yes, if i want to. Kinda awkward...but i go. He lets me talk chemistry for 30 minutes (which i appreciated) but i could tell he was not even remotely interested. I think i intimidated him. Then we watched a little Robin Williams stand up. I was laughing my ass off. I almost felt like i was watching TV with a friend b/c he didn't touch me at all. When i left...he gave me a good hug. I kissed him on the cheek, he just seemed glad i was going. Doh! He gets a C- because it was awkward, and he didn't seem to be himself today. He seemed much more distracted than he was when i saw him Sunday.

Conclusion: I doubt he will be calling me again. I think he wants more of a party girl, and less of an intellectual. I could be wrong though.

More bad dreams...sorry i don't have something more cheerful to write about

I dreamt a nasty black spider crawled on my hand and bit me. Immediately the skin around the back of my hand started to turn black. My dad took me to the bathroom and started squeezing the wound and all sorts of nasty pus came out. Then i started losing feeling in my fingers. My dad told me it was nothing, but then about the time i lost feeling all the way to my elbow my dad decided to take me to the hospital.

I learned how to play tennis yesterday. My back and right butt cheek are a little sore today. I'm not so good at tennis. My dad gave me his tennis racket, and i asked if there was much of a difference between women's and men's tennis rackets, he said no. I held sarah's when we were leaving the court, and hers was so much lighter, and not as long as mine. Apparently the one my dad gave me has an oversized bow, so its even longer than a regular men's tennis racket! No wonder i was gripping so close to the top of the handle! I had a great time playing tennis...but i may need to invest in a women's racket.

Dating update...

So i called that guy from Indy and left him a message. He called me back today and we talked for a few minutes. Conversation is a little forced, he's not that much of a talker...but most guys aren't. He said he would call me back...so we'll see. At least he called me back once, that'll make ya feel good!

There's this guy who lives in the apartment building next to mine who is cute. A few weeks ago he came over to me when i came home and talked to me for a bit. But then i hadn't seen him for a few weeks. So i figured...he came to talk to me...it's time for me to take the initiative. So i left a note on his car (cause i don't know which apartment he lives in) that said "Ryan, we should have dinner sometime. Audra (insert my address here)" Well...apparently it seemed to work. He came by and left me his number. So i called. He talked to me for a long time, and boy is he a talker! I learned all kinds of things about him on Saturday night. So last night he asked me if i wanted to hang out. So we played a game of pool (which ended lasting like almost an hour cause we both suck) and then we watched a movie. The movie wasn't good...but that's alright. The evening was nice...until i got ready to leave. We had one of those awkward moments where you don't know if you should kiss or not. I have a new rule of no kissing on the first date, so i pulled away when he came in for a kiss...and he kissed my cheek instead. Talk about awkward...but it was still a good end to the night.

So we'll see where the rest of this dating stuff goes. But it seems that at least i can still get a date! So HA!

I am going to share my nightmare from last night b/c it's difficult for me to forget it if i don't share it with someone.

I dreamt i was in a high school and some demon kept coming after me. Everytime he would touch me, what ever he touched would disintegrate. I ran all over the school trying to get away from him, but no matter how fast i ran he would always catch up with me, so finally i gathered as many friends as possible and we ran to the field at school and held hands in a circle. As long as the circle remained intact, the demon couldn't touch me. But the demon would go around saying awful things to my friends so that one by one they left the cirlce, and each the the demon would disintegrate something of mine. First it was my hat. Then my suit coat. Then my pants. All i had left was my shirt and my undergarments and then he would soon start on touching my skin until i was nothing but bones (and of course dead). Even though he was only touching clothes at this point, it hurt something terrible because the heat he caused was excrutiating. The person standing next to me began to pull his hand away, and i was begging him so hard not to let me go. I remember crying and pleading that he would not let me go, and just as his hand slipped from mine, the alarm clock went off and i woke up.

My dreams never seem so horrible when i finally write them down or tell someone (which is why i do it) but they are pretty awful when i'm sleeping.

I would not consider myself a movie buff by any means.

HELP!!!! Computer folks unite!!! I played a computer game..and now all my icons and my web browser are huge!!! I feel like an old person! I went into control panel, display, blah blah and looked at the window that had "use large icons" it wasn't selected so i selected it hoping that when i unselected it, everything went back to normal. Well...it didn't. So i turned my computer off, and turned it back on...no luck. So now i'm appealing to you guys. I really can't stand it being this size...but i don't know what to do to fix it. HELP please!!!

FYI, in the world of dating, a guy who lives next door gave me his number. So i called him yesterday, and we're going out on Wednesday. It looks like i'm finally back in the game, for now at least.

I wish i knew how to quit you

So i've been thinking lately that i need a hobby or something. All the cool people i know have some little known hobby they are good at. Kristi is a marathon runner. Troy is a master practical joker. Dianna takes singing lessons. Bridget knits and cooks. Nick writes good stories. Hayley plays water polo. Tabitha is on a bowling league. My brother is good at soccer. But I (being a cool person that i know) don't have any hobbies. I go to work...come home...work out...go to bed. I do read...but no one is ever known for their marvelous reading abilities unless they can do it in multiple languages. Which i can't. I'm taking suggestions on what hobby i should start pursuing.

Today at work...this good looking red head came into the lab to fix our computers. So we were joking around in the lab that i should get his number. So i told Leo that he should go do it for me. Well...he actually did! So now i have this guy's number, but he lives in Indianapolis (for those of you with no geographical reference, Indy is about 2 hours south west of Fort Wayne). Yesterday at church i saw this old man backing out of his parking spot. Then he hit a suburban that was parked behind him, except he didn't stop. He continued to back up...then pulled away. He didn't even look back, because he didn't realize he had hit a HUGE SUV. Scary to think that people like that are still allowed to have driver's license. I stick to my theory that old people behind the wheel are just as impaired as drunk people.

Today...i saw this guy in full biker regalia (including leather chaps and bandana on his head) driving...wait for it...a scooter!!! And not only was he driving this scooter at 35 mph in a 45...he was driving in the left hand lane! If i hadn't been so amused i would have been pissed!

At church this morning there was someone who looked a lot like Nick. It was kinda weird. He kept staring at me too. Then after church...i saw him happily holding hands with his girlfriend. Doh! So i laid out in the sun yesterday....and now i look like half a lobster. Only the front of me is burnt...not the back. So now i'm going to have to lay on my stomach and let the other side of me get burnt. I hurt so bad right now!!!! My shower this morning was tortuous! That's the last time i sit outside and read without any sunscreen! Who knew that really white girls could burn so easy? Okay...so maybe everyone...but not me.

I've been gone for so long because my folks were in town visiting. They left this morning. Peace raineth over the land...and the peasants rejoice. Okay...maybe just me and columbo. They had a good visit, and i am definitely glad they came...but it's also nice that they're gone. We didn't do too much, except on Wednesday I was stuck in Amish Hell! I had go visit a lot of little crafty shops and watch my mom and grandma hang out of the window of the car trying to get pictures of Amish people in their buggies. Poor Amish folk...they must get tired of being treated like a freak show. I mean...I don't think i would appreciate it if someone kept taking pictures of me everytime i went driving down the street! But...what can you do? However...the day was not a total waste. We did get to eat at this fantastic restaurant. They had fantastic mashed potatoes and excellent lemon meringue pie!! Ahh....slap your mama good! We mostly did lots of shopping...and i bought some new clothes. More than i really should have, but i deserve it!! I bought some killer blue pants!

By the way...if Fort Wayne had weather like it does today all week...i would almost be inclined to never move from here!

My brother is supposed to come visit maybe in August so we can go to Cedar Point! AWESOME!!! My brother is my favorite person to ride rollercoasters with. He doesn't judge when i scream my fool head off and he's always ready to move to the next ride. This is definitely going to be a way better summer than last summer. Last summer was pretty cool...but this summer is gonna rock something fierce!

So i made the biggest fashion faux pas this week at work. Dianna had given me a new shirt that had all sorts of cool pink and black swirls on it. So i wore it on monday with black pants and a black cardigan...and i was looking super cute. Until i got under the fluorescent bulbs at work, only to realize that the black in my shirt was navy blue...and the dark mauve in my shirt was really brown! Ridiculous! I thought about going home and changing at lunch...but then people would notice that i had changed my clothes, and then most likely notice that i had in fact made a bad fashion slip up. This is definitely worse than the time i got half way to work wearing my house shoes!
