So today is the day that's dreaded by all singles everywhere. The day when the fact that you are alone is rubbed in your face in the form of pink hearts and roses. By happy couples smooching in public, and that coworker whose thoughtful husband sends flowers to work.
Bah humbug. Just call me the scrooge of romantic Valentine's Day. Instead...i'm going to use this opportunity to discuss all the things that I love, even though they aren't the romantic kind of love. This list is in no particular order.

Valentines day is a holiday for women, by women to insult other women and play one upsmanship with them.
Dont feel bad about it. Those women are petty. What would happen to the guy who didnt send his woman flowers at work? He would be getting yelled at.

Valentine's day at Rose-Hulman is a day when you make a joke about singles day during lunch and some people have away messages that say "Happy Valentine's Day".
I plan to celebrate by making myself a heart-shaped omelette at some point in the next several weeks.
